I can’t believe the local government did this… July 15, 2020

This was taken this afternoon in the studio before I heard the shocking and unbelievable news that the local government has shut all businesses located on Punta Ballena or ‘The Strip’ in Magaluf for 2 months with immediate effect.
They are blaming the scenes shown on viral videos of some seemingly drunk individuals jumping on cars and chanting football songs last Saturday night after all the bars had closed at 2am.
People were not wearing masks but the wearing of face masks did not become a legal requirement until last Monday.
How the government can blame the bars on one street for this, I don’t understand. Who’s to say the car jumping prick hadn’t had his fill of free booze back at his hotel?
Shut the hotel’s too? No, just the bars. Even the ones at the other end of the street nowhere near the incident in question.
Even worse, the many bars that weren’t even open yet!!! They’ve literally done nothing wrong, they couldn’t have, they haven’t been open!! Where’s the fairness in that?
Some of the bars that aren’t technically ON Punta Ballena, they’re on a side alley like Alex’s bars, say they’re going to open. Good luck to them but my guess is there’ll be a tweak to the ruling to include side alleys too before long. I hope I’m wrong.
So many people in the bars, restaurants, takeaways, fashion and jewellery shops located on the Strip are now out of work…. again! No doubt their suppliers will now struggle too.
A holiday resort with no nightlife? Good luck with that.

EDIT July 16, 2020:

They’ve now closed all of the bars on the streets off of Punta Ballena too, including Alex’s Bars. This is unbelievable, I am totally shocked by all of this.
